Wiki has no idea what this Halcyon Days phrase means and nor do I. We get:
Halcyon Days is an oblique reference to the Greek mythological figure Alcyone
Ok – An oblique reference to something I have never heard of. Thank you wiki!

Well, this is useful and will add value to any conversation.
Then this phrase site traces a bunch of ways this phrase was used through the years, finally getting to Shakespeare. Whatever. I don’t read that mythological figure.
Then we get this tidbit:
Our current use of 'halcyon days' tends to be nostalgic and recalling of the seemingly endless sunny days of youth - despite the fact that the original halcyon days were in the depths of winter.
Haha! No one is using this phrase these days for summer or winter. I do not think I am alone in having to look it up. I promise never to speak it or to expect anyone else to know what it means. I do not feel nostalgic, since I have not heard of this before :)
