When I tell people I grew up partly on a farm, this is the place I'm talking about. The photos here were taken by various family members in the early 1960's.
It was a big place with a lot of variety of terrain. This part I'm showing you today is the "sledding hill." Here is my uncle climbing up it.
And my dad skiing down the other side.
My mom and brother and I are dragging the sled up. Notice he is helping and I am being dragged up too.
At the top, we get in and slide down. They are screaming with joy and I am screaming in fear and wishing I could be anywhere else.
Side shot of the action. My brother and mom are steering with ropes and I'm feeling fat and getting ready to fall out.
And now we are at the bottom going back to the the cabin.
These are all captures from slides my brother saved somehow while cleaning out my parents' house.
It may not be a mountain, but these photos I did not take are for the mountainmonday initiative by . It looks like this is Keith's last day here for a while and I am so sorry to know that. Hang in there, Keith, and best of luck in all your future pursuits. I'm glad I got the chance to show my non-mountains in your tag :)
