Today I want to share with all of you these photos of this beautiful plant that is known in my country as Cardón. It is a species of cactus very common in some parts of Venezuela like Falcón and Nueva Esparta.
The cactus or mountain cactus is one of the largest of its kind, can reach more than five meters. They can produce flowers and fruits, mine is too small to bear fruit.
Of course if I know its fruits and I have eaten them we also call it Yaguarey is a circular fruit that is on the top of the cardones, being ripe it is red on the outside and inside, with black seeds that They make them look lunar, they are sweet and of pleasant flavor for me. The fruit is usually covered with thorns.
This cardon specimen I found on top of the silver band of my house there was growing, average approximately 10 centimeters now measures 60 centimeters. They will ask how the cactus arrived on the roof of my house, well the answer is that they reproduce by seeds which are transported by birds and bats when they eat the fruit and deposit them in any place where they defecate.
