This proverb has been wildly used by many people all over the world. I have been thinking lately about this proverb, its meaning, application and implication. Most people believe that through experience one will learn better and faster.
I also believe that on the job training will give an individual a superior knowledge over a subject matter than those who only read about the subject without practicing it. I felt that is wrong for an individual to wish to learn about everything through experience.
For instance, will you want to learn how an accident victim feels through experience? Or to learn how those that have serious illnesses feel when they are in pain through experience?
I my opinion, I believe that experience will coach you well in understanding an issues, but there are some things that one should learn from what happened to others rather than experiencing it. Reading through other peoples experience or view over an issue will teach you a lot.
