The 40 or so snakes of various sizes and species, including no less than four destructive cobras, sent agents and villagers jumping on to tables and running out of the way to get away from the workplace in Basti, 185 miles south-east of Lucknow, as per nearby authority Ramsukh Sharma.
"Snakes began moving up the tables and seats," he said. "There was add up to turmoil. Many individuals accumulated outside the room, some of them with sticks in their grasp, yelling that the snakes ought to be murdered."
