When Binance was launching whitepaper of how BNB (coins that could been bought in ICO) and it was explained how they will be used. Now after 1st year of the exchange live finished they shared current plans for discount trades using the tokens.

Yet to "make up for it" they also added new bonuses or maker and taker.

Worth to note is that Binance gained its momentum due to two things - Poloniex almost not working and super cheap fees. Of course theres more- good GUI, good support and loads of coin additions but the fees vs competitors were important.
