The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner, professor of education at Harvard University. It suggests that the traditional notion of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too limited. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential in children and adults. These intelligences are:
-Linguistic intelligence (word smart)
-Logical-mathematical intelligence (number/reasoning smart)
-Spatial intelligence (picture smart)
-Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence (body smart)
-Musical intelligence (music smart)
-Interpersonal intelligence (people smart)
-Intrapersonal intelligence (self smart)
-Naturalist intelligence (nature smart)

According to Howard Gardner, who had created the theory of multiple intelligences, said that the traditional psychometric views were too limited, and promoted that there are “eight intelligences” (Cherry) and even possibly a ninth. People can know what their strengths and weaknesses from the result of multiple intelligences after taking a test and them to be better.
I took a test on https://www.edutopia.org/multiple-intelligences-assessment and it was made me satisfied about the result because it is quite right about me. I also found out where my intelligences’ strengths and weaknesses were.
I got a high score in Linguistic, 83%. I started to learn English since I was 13 years old and I’m preparing to study my third language: Korean. Besides speaking Vietnamese as my mother’s language, using English for study and communicate in daily life, I’ve watched a lots of Korean movies so I can hear and understand what they say quite well. Even though I’m still not so good at Korean and English because those languages have different meanings and synonyms for each, but I’m still trying to study and improve it day by day. This is my strength.
About Logical-Mathematical, I got 81%. I wasn’t the best student in Math class but I like numbers. I studied very hard and focus on this class because it’s was very interesting time. It’s helped so much in finding a shorter way to solve the problem. But sometimes I was careless to do math’s exercises and the score wasn’t so high. From all of that mistakes, I am quite careful making decisions of problems now.
I got 69% in both Intrapersonal and Interpersonal. I like to talk, to interact with people, to listen to people either. But sometimes, I really need a space to be alone. When I get into troubles, I usually talk to no one, just want to be quite, take a rest and maybe reset my mind. I think maybe that point of mine leads to the same result.
However, my lowest score is 50% in Musical, Bodily-Kinesthetic and Naturalistic. These are maybe my weaknesses. I can sing, well actually my voice quite easy to hear when I’m sing but I can’t play good at any musical instruments.. Bodily-Kinesthetic? I like to play sports, especially badminton and swimming but I don’t play it as usual. I love animals like dog, cat, etc. I like gardening and working with plants. Of course I’m still need to do something to protect the environment such as put the trash into the right place, recycle anything we can, etc.
In conclusion, Multiple Intelligences test has helped me to know who exactly I am and what I should do to improve my weaknesses, myself. I will try hard to find the right way for me not only now but also in the future and try not to make mistakes as well as I can’t. Thanks to Gardner that made me realized my strengths, my weaknesses.
