I have seen people do a lot of foolish things when they are in love with another person. They tolerate what they would not tolerate for anyone else. They take decisions that every other person would consider as "insane decision" just because they are in love.
Does being in love suspends one's senses of reasoning?
I guess no. I was once foolish for love. I understood perfectly well that what I was doing was "not completely sane". I never bothered about the after effects of what I was doing. At that point in my life, all that matters was to please the one I loved. I just wanted to see him happy. I knew the consequences of what I was doing could be very devastating. But the strong desire to see the person I love happy and comfortable was more immense than the fear of a backfire. I was fortunate to stop taking stupid decisions quick enough. 😂
When people do stupid things for love, it is not because they are foolish. They only placed the person they love as the topmost priority.
However, because humans are unpredictable and can change at any time. I will advise everyone to place themselves as number in their list of priority no matter what they do. Never love anyone more than you love yourself. Protect yourself while being in love.
