The team at Steem-Engine is really paving the way for what is to come on the Steem blockchain. This sidechain is providing a valuable service to Steem. Anyone can to on there and create a token for their project. All tokens created are paired with STEEM making it an asset that can be traded.
We now see the next step in the evolution. This was mentioned by a couple of times and it is good to see it come into practice.
held the first security token offering which raised $100,000. This was a major breakthrough for a few different reasons.
The first is that Security Tokens are still in the embryo stage. There are very few of them and now we can say one of them was done on here. The world is not even looking at Steem yet it is one of the few ecosystems to have a token offering of this kind.
Secondly, it shows the world that there is a way to raise money for projects. One of the problems for most projects is access to real capital. It is great to have a token but depending upon that to fund the project is difficult. As was saw, a bear market wipes out a great deal of the value (thus ability to operate). This is what put Steemit Inc in such hot water.
Finally, it allows Steemmonsters to make the changes to their game that the team envisions. One of the things I heard is that the game will be expanded to interact with Tron users. Since I heard this from 's video, I am not sure how it works. Nevertheless, this is an expansion of the reach of Steem. We know that Tron got a lot of attention so having access to that user base can only help.
My vision is that people on here will ultimately have access to assets that offered on a decentralized exchange outside the reach of any one government or institution. A hindrance to wealth building for most of the world is the fact that those who do have some capital are not allowed into the early projects. This is only for "accredited investors" (read rich) at least in the United States.
mentioned in one of his posts the desire to create NASDAQ on here. This is a vision I can sigh up for. There are a host of financial products that should be available to the average person. Unfortunately, we are kept out while the "inner circle" are the ones allowed to participate.
In reading the post, it appears we are at a transition stage which is no surprise. The entire industry is at the point of trying to decentralize within a centralized model. We need to accept the reality that the government regulators are not going away overnight. Also, full decentralization, for the most part, is not attainable at this moment. Until we establish the foundational pieces that are outside these entities, we are going to have to navigate the waters.
Over time, I believe we will see moves in that direction but it is a process.
Here is the post,
I agree this is a game changer. Ethereum was elevate in 2017 because of the attention it received in the ICO craze. By having the ability to offer STOs, the entire ecosystem could be facing similar attention in the near future.
Things are changing rapidly.
