I chose this title "the hateful truth" because of the reality and how I feel about procrastination.
Ones ability to overcome procrastination is directly proportional to his probability of achieving greater success. The truth is plain and I bet no one will dare to disprove this logic. For it will only feel like you are trying to disprove your very own existence.

Wikipedia defines procrastination as avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished. Every human has a level of procrastination in him or her. I personally hate being late for class and as such i mostly get to the class at exactly or slightly past 8:00 am which is the reporting time. Often at times, i read post or try to write an article before leaving for class. I put in tasks to keep me busy and prepare hurriedly for class when i am left with 30 mins to 8:00 am. I call this procrastination and one will argue as to what am i procrastinating. I have grown to realise that, i could actual schedule my hours better and get to campus much earlier and do with my post but i always give an excuse as to not make it. I know its something i have to work on but it seems so difficult. Let me not talk anymore about my personal experience and tackle this issue objectively.
Everyone is actually a procrastinator and you yourself know it. The difference between two individuals is when his alert system which pushes him to do work as he should sets in. With constant reminder, one learns to procrastinates less. I will not summarize procrastination as good or bad. As the approach to it is subjective. Today, i am telling you, you can get more done by not procrastinating. But to do that needs shear desire and self will. Its not a sprint but a marathon.

The best therapy that i have seen is the mind and whatever you decide to do and willing to do, the mind can make it possible. All you have to do is to be conscious of it. Avoiding procrastination is like bathing. You have to constantly fight it day in day out till it becomes your habit. Even then, you have to make sure not to backslide. I prefer writing down a schedule and rewarding myself for successfully following it. Procrastination is neither good or bad. You can decide to weaponize it or get rid of it. It takes much difficulty to weaponize than to get rid of. Get rid of it and enjoy a much more sound life. Have a wonderful day.
