Be honest. Try to say the truth at all times. I like honest people. People who are honest to themselves and to others around them usually have a high level of integrity. I'll prefer an enemy who will tell me that my mouth is smelling to a friend who will keep shut and allow me to go about with bad breathe.
Some people lie to themselves. I've read about a man that actually deceived himself to death. He kept saying that "I am going to die" and you can guess what happened. He was found almost dead in his house. He kept muttering to himself the following words "I am going to die". When you tell a lie to yourself and you keep telling that lie, you start to believe your own lies. Some people call it brainwashing. You can brainwash your own self. But a wise man knows that he must be true to himself. It's not beneficial to live in denial. There is a flip side to this though. You can talk yourself out of depression and fear. By confession positive words to yourself, you can become better. For instance, when you find yourself in sadness and depression you can proclaim positive words and go to places that will make you feel better. I don't think this is the same as lying to yourself. Is it?
People who are honest live a life of freedom. Honesty is freedom. Living a life of lies can be horrible. One who lies about everything has to be different things to different people. That means they have to remember everyone they lied to and the exact lies they told. Isn't that a nightmare?
Today I am grateful that I am a free person. I will conduct my activities with honesty and transparency. I also thank God for the sense and capacity, to be honest.
Thank you very much!
