This just happened at Otedola Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Hundreds of vehicle burnt, hundreds of commuters dead after a tanker fell on the road.

I saw this on facebook and I was drawn to tears. I've been living in Ibadan for almost 5 years now and I've never heard that there was a gun battle in a marketplace. It happened today.
On Saturday, 23rd of June, 200 innocent people were killed in a communal crisis between farmers and nomadic herdsmen.
In, January, when 73 people were killed in Benue, by Fulani herdsmen. These nomadic herdsmen are the new terrorist.
A report in thisdaylive states that 901 people were killed in the middle belt of the country from January to April. I'm pretty sure that this is an underestimation because a lot of these killings don't make it to the news.
I hardly pay attention to some of this news but this is too much. I can't keep shut anymore. Are the Fulani herdsmen now more powerful than the entire security agencies in Nigeria? For goodness sake don't we value human lives? Are cows suddenly more precious than humans? What sort of negligence are we allowing to persist in our transportation networks? Too many lives have been wasted these past days. What is going on?
