The biggest finding ever done by an apprentice student is a butterfly named Dismorphia, which was brought from the Amazon but is unknown and known in the museum since the end of the 19th Century.
The chaos of the collection of butterflies collected by Wallace was preceded by a fire that struck his ship while carrying many specimens from South America in 1852, and it is believed that many of his collections of butterflies were lost in the incident.
