“I tried to pick photos that both embodied “Nature” but also were photos that specifically worked well in black and white, rather than just cool photos turned black or white. Pure black and bright whites help a lot for this. The first place photo checked all of those boxes, for me. 2nd place did as well. 3rd Place was interesting because the photo itself didn’t blow me away at first but seeing the title “Pine Barcode” did. It really does look like a barcode. It’s the first time a title ever influenced my opinion of a photo in a pretty substantial way. It was a lesson learned that a titles can be important. There were a ton of great entries, and I looked through them all. Thanks for the judge invite. It was fun!”
