Another full moon has occurred and the 5th round of Byteball distribution is nearly complete.
Those who linked their bitcoin addresses by 21:45 UTC yesterday now have their newly distributed bytes in their Byteball wallets (and the anonymous blackbytes are being distributed as I write this).
If you missed out on this distribution of bytes and blackbytes, the 6th distribution will be on June 9th. The distribution rules are different for the next round in order to more favor Byte-holders rather than bitcoin holders. These are the rules for the 6th distribution as stated by the dev on bitcointalk on May 10, 2017:
BTC to bytes: (no change) 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 62.5 MB (0.0625 GB)
BTC to blackbytes: (no change) 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 62.5 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes)
Bytes to bytes: (2x increase) 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.2 new bytes
Bytes to blackbytes: (2x increase) 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.42222 blackbytes
If you are interested in Byteball I suggest going to the official website to download the wallet and give it a try. At the very least you can supplement your bitcoin by earning bytes and blackbytes on top of what you already own. To get further involved you may read the whitepaper and technical specifications on the official Byteball site.
