I don't plan to post too much more about Byteball as I expect most people have claimed some by now, but couple of people asked me how they can cash out what they got. See my previous post if you want to let me refer you.
Some of the airdrop is locked up for a year in a smart contract, but you can sell the rest. To make it easy there's a chat bot. I think I had heard about it, but this post by prompted me to try it.
You give it your Bitcoin address. I used that of my Wirex card wallet. This debit card is available across Europe. There are various fees involved, but I find it very convenient. You have to provide various ID to prove who you are and that can take a while to sort out. Note my link has my referral code.
After the bot takes your address you are directed to send some bytes to a specific Byteball account. I assume this is created just for the transaction. It's interesting that Byteball does not allow you to add a memo to a transaction like Steem does.
Once they receive the funds you just have to wait for the Bitcoin transaction to complete. A few minutes later I saw it in my Wirex wallet. I can then convert it to pounds that I can spend. You can see I don't have much in there yet, but then I haven't used it much. I plan to use it to cover my Steemfest costs.
I hope this little guide is useful.
- I'll buy guitar picks for Steem Dollars
- Get a Wirex Debit Card to spend your crypto.
- Steemians can get Byteball airdrop
- Get some passive income with Mannabase
- If this post is over seven days old you can vote up one of my newer posts to reward me.
