Yesterday I was looking at some of the new posts (as I've been doing since I joined) to see the latest & those who are up & coming. There was one from . He was sharing photos from some of his friends on here. I, especially, like nature photos. Those are some of the posts I search for on here. I clicked on the names of some he mentioned & one was from a photographer, Scott Thompson,

He had a pic of Kings Beach (see below). I had never heard of it. Not surprising, since, I'm not an outdoorsy type, other than, appreciating nature. So, I've never been in the area to ski or partake of other activities that outdoor enthusiasts tend to enjoy. Still, I loved the pic & found it to be quite peaceful & serene. I was also curious to learn more about Kings Beach.
Kings Beach is in Placer County, CA. On the north shore of Lake Tahoe. As of 2010, the population was, 3796. The post office was established in 1937. The town took it's name from the first postmaster, Joe King. It's elevation is 6250 feet. Total area is 3.4 square miles. That's all land. It has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate. It's characterized by warm (but not hot) dry summers & snowy winters. Due to its high elevation the winters there tend to fall below freezing for many days during the winter.
