Vast fires in California during winter risk becoming "normal" due to climate change and global warming. The governor of the state ravaged by the flames said this by visiting one of the most affected areas, the county of Ventura. Jerry Brown also warned that "there is a chance to see firemen in action at Christmas" because of the humidity and the strong winds forecast by meteorologists.
The flames that devoured southern California destroyed about 800 houses in a week, killing one person and causing billions of dollars in damage.
