Paying the electric bill in Siem Reap, Cambodia
It was time to pay the electric bill. Unlike back home in Australia, where you can easily pay your electric on the phone, in Siem Reap, Cambodia you go to the electric office to pay your bill.
There is no real queue system. Everyone just stands by the bars and shuffles up closer until they make eye contact with the cashier and are prompted to begin the transaction.
I am not sure why but this time my husband was ushered right to the front and had our bill paid in less than 5 minutes of being there. We were thankful because it is quite the sweaty affair in that office.
What I love about living abroad is the little things, like paying an electric bill or going shopping is will be guaranteed to be a new adventure.
