Hello, steemians! Welcome to my page!
The stinky greenhouse cannabis plant hasn't been growing very much this past week because it's been cold and overcast, but it has survived the cold nights so far. The plant that I have under the light in the house has been crowding the light for a week now and I pretty much ran out of adjustment room to raise the light. My little growing space is pretty limited in height, so I figured that it was time to take the top off the plant and let the side branches grow. The big primary leaves have been basically wrapping themselves around the light with the light being practically right on top of the light, so I decided to take most of them off also.
I should have gotten a picture of the plant under the light before I started so that you could see the way the big leaves were trying to wrap around the light, but I didn't think of it at the time. I did get a picture of the plant before I started trimming. This is my Blue Dream plant, or at least, that's what the seeds are supposed to be. You can see how compact the plant is from having the light close to the top of the plant. That seems to keep it from stretching as it grows. The LED and florescent light combination doesn't produce enough heat to damage the plant even when it's right on top of the plant
I feel kind of bad for the plant after trimming the top and the big leaves off, it just looks weird now.
A closer look at the trimmed plant. You can see all the side branches that are coming out of the leaf nodes.
The pile of trim. I'm going to dry it to use it. Waste not, want not. Probably not much THC in the primary leaves, but I guess I'll find out. I thought about soaking them in alcohol for a tincture, but I haven't done anything like that yet, so I'm going to have to study that process a bit before I try it. Of course, I had to chew the end of the top after I took it off, just to see what it tastes like. The leaves might make decent tea also.
Here's the poor sad looking plant back under the light. I was able to lower the light a couple of links of chain now that the plant is shorter.
I'm not sure what the genetics of this plant variety are, but it seems pretty obvious that there's a fair amount of indica in the plant due to the fatter leaves. I've been told that the buzz from Blue Dream is a euphoric kind of buzz instead of a couchlock buzz that a lot of indica types are know for. I hope they're right, I really don't care for the couchlock buzz. I guess time will tell.
That's all I have for this post, I hope you found it interesting!
