A little background for you first time readers of my blog! (and thanks for stopping by)
I began to grow a passion for cultivating cannabis early in my University career, when a friend of mine revealed his closet growing setup to me while enjoying some of his home-grown stash. I was shocked, that I had been so close to a great resource for learning how to grow and care for such delicate plants, and never connected the dots.
So as I returned home after completing my second year of studies in Engineering, I decided I would not pursue a regular summer job - instead, I would dedicate my three month summer break to a skill more fruitful - growing cannabis!
I started my summer garden by researching the soils best for growing cannabis. I found great resources all over the internet, but none better than George Cervantes Cannabis Bible! All novice growers should pick up a book like that for learning and resources about pests, harvesting, etc. Here are a few of the products I used in creating a custom soil for all three of my strains planted during the Sumer 2016 Grow Season!
What started as a conversation with a family friend, and a few ziplocc bags with interesting names, ended as huge seven foot healthy plants filled with delicious buds! As the summer grow season last up to 7 months in lovely, sunny California, I began to take "progress" pictures to update friends from the University who were scattered around the country!
I was always astounded how responsive cannabis plants were. This picture, taken of the same two plants at night and during the peak daylight hours shows how much movement they undergo during a normal day cycle. These are truly alive and well!
As my plants grew bigger, I decided it would be a great idea to support them with custom built trellis's! These were meade easily with a few woods screws, wooden dowels, and some hemp twine!
Summer 2016 was an amazing experience for me! I learned a ton, and had a ton of fun taking care of my garden, watching it grow into three fantastic plants! Check out the pictures I took days before harvesting my first summer crop!
This was my Afghani Kush 7-Footer, aptly named "Abdullah" and one of its nicest flowers!
This picture and the picture of one of its nicest flowers, came from my personal favorite of the entire garden. It is the strain "Cherry Pie" a cross of Durban Poison & Grand Daddy Purple (GDP).
Thank you guys for supporting my blog! I have tons of more content planned for 2018 which will include cannabis themed posts, information about growing cannabis, strain reviews of some of my favorite cannabis, and reviews of some of my favorite dispensaries in the lovely Bay Area of Northern California! Do not hesitate to reach out to me if you would like advice about your garden! Leave questions in the comments and I will absolutely respond to them with as much insight as I possibly can.
