A growing number of seniors today are looking to get their hands on some cannabis and they can't stop turning to line-up for the product, to see if it can help them with a myriad of different ailments.
Cannabis is still prohibited federally, yet you can access recreational and medicinal cannabis programs in a variety of different states today. This includes places like Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.
Many older adults have been turning to cannabis to see if they might be able to get some help with their anxiety, depression, insomnia, memory care, or pain.
One previous study found that cannabis therapy was safer and more efficient for seniors than their opioid medications in treating a variety of symptoms related to illnesses *such as cancer, PTSD, ulcerative colitis, and Parkinson's.
In Colorado, a growing number of seniors are becoming interested in what cannabis might be able to do for them.
Seniors are regarded as the fastest growing consumer group of cannabis in the U.S. today.
For 2016 alone, it's estimated that cannabis spending in Colorado was around $1.3 billion. The overall legal cannabis market in the United States is expected to surpass $20 billion by 2021.
