The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is currently looking into allegations of bribery that are reportedly connected with the Oklahoma pharmacy board director.
However, at the last minute it's alleged that the attorney didn't make the recommendation at the appropriate time for the pharmacists to be required at the dispensary locations. She allegedly failed to make the effort to move that rule forward when given the opportunity previously, but the board added it anyways. The rule still made it forward..
That attorney has since recently resigned from her position after she was found sending threats to herself while posing as a marijuana advocate, seemingly threatening violence against the Health Department if any restrictive rules on cannabis were imposed.
Those threats that she had allegedly sent to herself, she then allegedly sent on to law enforcement personnel who were working with the Department of Health.
If eventually convicted, this former Health Department attorney could face several years in prison.
Starting Point Of The Corruption?
This scandal comes only a few months after it was reported that the same Department of Health had allegedly mismanaged millions of dollars in funds.
The agency has since responded to that scandal in urging that they've conjured up new fail-safe measures (via a multi-page report) to protect themselves against any future financial mismanagement.
