What’s going on at Magic Flight?
Over the last couple of weeks, it has become known in the cannabis community that Magic Flight, who manufactures both the Magic Flight Launch Box for dry herbs, and the Muad Dib for concentrates, and who have become known for having an almost bombproof lifetime warranty on their flagship products, do not in fact replace their products as stated.
They’ve changed the policy, even on boxes bought years ago to where they now can cut people off after 2 boxes, when there are people in the past who have gotten 6 or 7, and even more people who bought one because they thought that it meant having a working vaporizer for life.
In alternate emails from the company, they’ve said both that this has “always been their policy,” which if true, doesn’t appear in any of the literature one receives with a Magic Flight device, and we’ve proven from cached versions of the website that they added it there(the only place where anyone can see the full warranty without in theory asking the company) in September.
They’ve also said that the reason it got mentioned in someone’s email is because they’ve had to “crack down” on people abusing the warranty.
As someone who spends time on their main forum daily, I can say without a doubt that the number of people abusing the warranty is extremely low. It’s worth more than what one can get out of “abusing” it, and it’s frankly too much of a pain in the ass for the kind of people who would do such a thing. Too much time involved.
Can they really change the rules on people who bought in years ago? And if so, why should we trust them?
Their company motto is that “Love trumps all, always choose on the basis of love.” I love transparency and will be boycotting and not recommending them anymore until they make a public statement on this issue.
