According to the WHO (World Health Organization), a drug is a any substance that, when inhaled, injected, smoked, consumed, absorbed via a patch on the skin, or dissolved under the tongue causes a physiological change in the body, creating also an addiction.
Marijuana is an ilegal drug and socially repudiated, whilst Alcohol is a legal drug and socially adopted
Marijuana effects:
Euphoria, Relaxing, Somnolence, Thirst, Perception disturbance, Balance disturbance, Sense of time disturbance, Confusing, Increase perception of colors and sounds, Difficulty speaking, Eye redness, Additive and Visual hallucinations, Tachycardia, Increase in blood pressure.
Alcohol effects:
Euphoria, Disinhibition, Dizziness, Nauseas, Vomits, Difficulty speaking, Balance disturbance, Lack of skill, Memory disturbance, Lost mind, Emotional instability, Mental confusion, Pain threshold decreased.
Marijuana side effects:
Hunger, Insomnia, Anxiety, Depression, Panic, Paranoia.
Alcohol side effects:
Thirst, Fatigue, Headache, Tremor, Vomit, Dizziness, Indigestion, Dehydration, Anxiety, Increase body temperature, Sleep disturbance, Increase heartbeat.
They are just a few effects and we can see their similarity. However, there is a big difference in the side effects.
According to the UNOD (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime), there are 170 million people who consume Marijuana, compared to 2000 million people who consume Alcohol, according to WHO.
Obviously, one of these drugs is more dangerous than the other.
In my opinion, I don't like the Marijuana, I've never tried it but I've smelt it. However, I see no reason to Marijuana prohibition. What do you think about it?
