Hey guys, today my winter break is over so you will get your daily cannabis posts. So today our topic is:
Does cannabis make you creative?
There is no question that everyone reacts differently to the consumption of cannabis. But this statement can not be made in such a general way. After all, it depends not only on the particular consuming person, but also on the grass, or the varieties that are smoked. And for this reason, there may be so many studies that prove the final effect of cannabis. But that's not what it's all about, but rather the question of whether cannabis and creativity are linked. Because there are many people with a creative mind and some who claim to be really creative only through consumption. And yes, some creative professions can be practiced despite regular consumption.
Cannabis and creativity - does it fit?
We humans have been fascinated by mind-altering substances since we think. It's just incredible what our consciousness and our brain are capable of. And so there are some people who had really world changing ideas and thoughts during the highness. Perhaps you have been so fated that you suddenly found explanations for something or come up with a totally ingenious idea. And even if a lot of nonsense is narrated and made, it can not be ruled out that so many good inspirations can come out of it. Cannabis is undoubtedly the most popular "drug" among the mind-altering substances and many thinkers or artists of that time and of today swear by the almighty herb. They describe a feeling of relaxation and increased flow of thought. Some examples:
- William Shakespeare
- Salvador Dali
- Carl Sagan
- Neil deGrasse Tyson
- Bill Gates
- Lady Gaga
Of course, the testimonials and descriptions of these celebrities also help cannabis advocates and those who truly appreciate creative potential in cannabis.
And what does science say about the connection between cannabis and creativity?
We rely on scientific evidence and less on the testimony of real consumers. This is unfortunately a fact that can not be concealed. Clear answers do not yet provide most studies, after all, there are always studies that refute another and vice versa. And in terms of cannabis and creativity, there are no clear results, because most of the results must be based on the statements of consumers. Logically, because first of all it must be proven that said artists and thinkers would be less creative without cannabis use. And of course that's difficult, if not impossible.
But there are interesting researches that try to prove some connection. In fact, one has to be aware of the effects of the different cannabis strains and dosages, which was not the case in the research. But: It has been shown that marijuana increases the activity of the frontal lobe primarily by an increased blood flow in the brain.
What is the frontal lobe activity?
An improvement in so-called frontal lobe activity has been observed in those performing a creative job or occupation. The frontal lobe is responsible for the creative drive. In addition, the frontal lobe is responsible for deviant thinking. This is to be noted during the problem-solving phase, which looks at how creative people approach and solve diverse problems. Now it is believed that cannabis drives frontal lobe activity and increases the potential for deviant thinking.
Increased dopamine levels after cannabis use
Dopamine is an endogenous substance and is also needed for creative thinking. After cannabis use, an increased level of dopamine was found. Hidden inhibitions are lowered to open for new things. How does this work? As we think, we automatically try to access as much information in our brains as possible to find a solution somewhere. Our brain systematically evaluates all existing data and comes to a conclusion at best. If the responsible stimuli are obstructed or restricted, as cannabis does, then we have less meaningful and evaluable data available, but these automatically make room for new ones. The new data may be unimportant and stupid, but it's data that we would not access during normal thinking. So the altered perception could be a world of more creativity.
Which varieties can increase or stimulate our creativity?
There are indeed varieties that are known for their creativity or stimulate creative thinking. However, the effects of these varieties are rather subjectively to consider, since of course the consumer in itself is crucial. One can therefore rely only on the many coincidences of consumers who talked about the use of certain varieties of creativity.
Royal Jack
Royal Jack is well known for his creative input, the user feels uninhibited and free.
Royal AK
This variety really has it and is among the good smokers as rather difficult, because it makes incredibly tired and a subsequent nap is hardly around it. But: Those who resist the temptation experience an incredibly relaxing high and the creative ideas begin to bubble.
Sour Diesel
Sour D. was named after his diesel-like aroma and the high is celebrated by many. Energetic, happy and uplifting consumers feel and an ever-increasing positive feeling is released. And who then deals with his happy thoughts, thinks outside the box.
Lemon Shining Silver Haze
As the name implies, the smell and taste reminds of lemon, which alone is the reason for the popular consumption of this plant. After consuming it is difficult to really concentrate or focus. The contents of the thoughts fly and the ideas come pretty fast. Before that, the consumer should not be afraid, otherwise it could overwhelm.
Royal cookies
Royal cookies are the THC richest among the creative cannabis strains and should therefore be treated with caution. The high is uplifting and happy, which can turn into sheer euphoria. Your own ideas suddenly seem meaningful and you can unrestrictedly find different solutions. To deal with it, however, serious work, it is probably not suitable.
