Does Your "Toking" Room Smell Like an Ashtray After a Long Session?
Would you prefer your room smelling natural instead?
Want to smoke some cannabis and have nothing but clean cannabis smell lingering for an hour or so? We're talking about your room smelling the way it was before you start toking. No chemical plug ins, sprays, smoke tubes or whatnot, just the smell of cannabis fading away to nothing.
You do?
GREAT! Right now is an excellent time to start your adventure. The quest for clean cannabis! :D
What Causes the Ashtray Smell in Cannabis?
This is a good question which I don't believe is asked enough. I've spent a number of years not having to deal with the ashtray smell, until this latest harvest. This latest harvest was cut short (very short) due to landlord issues (I believe they're psychotic, in the clinical sense). The resulting cannabis is stinking up the rooms I smoke in, so I wanted to share the reasons this would happen.
The Number One Cause of the Dirty Ashtray Smell Is?
("The Envelope Please...") Unused elements or built up elements in the cannabis itself. I grow using high micron air filtration, there are no spores or hairs, dander, bugs or anything on my cannabis. None of my cannabis is sprayed during flowering or has systemic pesticides/fungicides/whateverides used on them. The only thing different this run was the excess elements left at harvest time.
I have dirty ashtray cannabis. Bleah!
So the main cause is excess nutrients, the other causes are air contaminates and spray/systemic contaminates. This is why almost all dispensary cannabis leaves ashtray smell and causes smoker's breath. (Smokey kisses anyone?)
Where Do You Get Clean Cannabis?
Look around or start growing your own. Now that you're aware clean cannabis doesn't cause ashtray smells, the hunt is on to find a source. In this day and age, it may be significantly easier to grow it yourself. I've detailed the variables for your awareness in my book, "Secrets to Growing Trichome Dense Cannabis. Whether you're organic or hydro, the variables controlling quality apply equally.
You're looking for cannabis grown:
- With High Micron Air Filtration
- Low amendment or nutrient levels
- Proper fading
- Use of R/O quality water
The cleaner the environment, and the better the grower understands cannabis as a hyper/dynamic accumulator, the cleaner the end cannabis is going to be. The cleaner the end cannabis, the faster your room will change from sweet smelling cannabis smoke, to natural room odor.
