Cannabis oil allow for the first time ...
It's not often I write or even take note of the propaganda pages but this case has caught my attention. Even less often I don't use my own photography but this post deserves it. Many of you will have heard the case of Billy Caldwell who has been using cannabis to control his epilepsy. Since using it he has been seizure free for 300 days. Billy became the first person in the UK to receive an NHS prescription for medical cannabis, with the support of his GP. However the Home Office intervened to ordered his doctor to halt the prescription or risk losing his licence. To cut a long story short his mother has since been sourcing it from Canada. Last Monday she was stopped at Heathrow airport with the latest supply of cannabis.
Hours after the confiscating the cannabis at the airport Billy's seizures returned. When there is proof it works and helps someone live a full and more comfortable life to take it away is nothing short of negligence and frankly sickening for any human being to allow. There have been many conversations and discussion on this so I won't go into detail of the benefits of cannabis oil.
But in a turn of fortune...
A few days after once Billy had been admitted to hospital Sajid Javid the British Home Secretary stepped in and allowed Billy to have the cannabis to treat his epilepsy. Now this was mainly due to the intense public pressure. Which incidentally just shows what power we have to change the world and make people listen by coming together under one voice, but I digress.
Mr Javid has now launched a review into the UK policy on medical cannabis. Where I would not hesitated to give it to a family member who needed it a lot of people would not because the men in Westminster say they can't. So this is a monumentl day for the UK I feel. Their have been MP's who have campaigned for this such as Nick Clegg the failed Liberal Democrat leader who said today:
The former Liberal Democrat leader said: "It is pathetic - and I saw it for myself in government - this bone-headed triumph of prejudice over evidence.
"The active substance in these cannabis-derived medicines is less harmful than stuff you can get across the counter from a chemist.
"When I was in government, I certainly couldn't get Theresa May and the Home Office and indeed other parts of the government to just address the evidence.
"That poor mother is finding herself in this heartbreaking situation because politicians can't separate off the issue of medicinal cannabis to help her child from their wider prejudice about drugs generally."
I not not one hundred percent convinced this will be the outcome we are all looking for but the fact it is on the table and in the propaganda media; is massive an hopefully with sustained pressure we can finally get access to real medicine. Even if they do agree it can be used which is likely as even the Hunt Jeremy Hunt the Health minster agrees our laws are out of date; there is still along way to go. But even my dad who I have be trying to get on cannabis oil for month is now talking about maybe taking it. The conversation has started and the research is coming out of the shackles.
The ball is set in motion and it's great to finally see guys!
