Millennials are unfairly characterized as spoiled, unambitious and self-absorbed. Businesses blame them for the lackluster housing, car and diamond markets. But Millennials didn't invent neo-liberalism, cut taxes to the rich, support Bush Jr.'s Iraq war, destroy the world economy, then bail out the banks and impose austerity measures on every one else.
Millennials are fully justified in blaming boomers for much of the social ills they face. They didn't create the conditions that hamper their dreams and limit their power. Who can blame them for rejecting the values and ideologies of their predecessors? If boomers dish it out, they should be able to take it. This past summer, America saw the battled played out on the national stage: Millennials overwhelming supported Sanders and expressed distrust of Clinton.
I'm not worried as statistics indicate that Millennials have already upsurped the Boomer's place as the largest generation. In the next decades, Millennials will be shaping policy and culture. I can hardly wait.
