Rockefeller famously once stated, "Competition is a Sin", but sin is meaningless outside direct reference to God. Competition with God is obviously a sin, but what Rockefeller meant in a profane way was that competition is bad. As bad is the opposite of good, competition is the opposite of cooperation. Cooperation is clearly a Good, and so this distinction demonstrates that Rockefeller was correct: competition is bad.
Competition may be a convenient platform to support Capitalism, Darwinism, Survival of the Fittest, Materialism and Industrialism, but competition is still Satan's game. Improvement is Good, but improvement can happen in the absence of competition. Sometimes the progress towards perfection is seemingly stifled by a lack of competition, but this is in actuality either bureaucratic laziness, profit-seeking or suppression of technological advances. Progress towards perfection can happen and should happen in the absence of competition.
Competition, on the other hand, saps the strength of the competitors by forcing them to needlessly compete instead of prudently cooperate. Competition is imprudent, and therefore a waste of effort. God wants us all working together to improve the world and ameliorate our fallen condition. Satan wants us fighting each other and stepping on each other in headlong pursuit of whatever goal he sets before us. Satan is training us to compete on demand, and the goalposts are set a little further downward every time.
