I suspect that the socialism/capitalism dichotomy is obsolete. The world is reorganizing based on tech giants, AI, institutions, planned poverty, global genocide. I think the socialism and capitalism debate are distractions from this. In all the places I have worked, the P word (profit) has never passed the lips of anyone but myself. I don't think most managers have any interest in profits, and in most organizations I have been part of, the organization has committed business-suicide. Don't assume that any business has any interest in profit or survival. The name of the game seems to be power and control over employees rather than business success and survival.
The sole reason most businesses even continue to exist, feeling like kings presiding over a kingdom, is the reason why the whole anti-remote work bias exists (it's certainly not work efficiency, given how most people merely perform doing work for the vast majority of the time they're in the office).
It's the reason why plenty of upper management simply gets hired, promises everybody literally impossible things with zero intention of delivering, pads their resume, and then ditches the company in 2–3 years to go try to get a raise somewhere else.
It's the reason why companies pay out the nose for the stupidest shit, like paying the cost for a whole new printer every month just to have a printer from another company.
Their delusions of grandeur begin and end with themselves, and there's only so many fleas a dog can have before it bleeds to death.
