It's been a long time since I haven't posted on cars, but seeing the sale of this 1978 Aston Martin V8 Series III on the online car auction website Bring A Trailer, it was the opportunity not to be missed to be back in business 😀
History of Aston Martin V8
The Aston Martin V8 was introduced in 1969 to remplace the DB6 with a new design, more modern. Each car was assembled by hand in 1,200 hours in the Newport Pagnell factory (between London and Birmingham, England). We're far from the current automotive production, robotic production chain with same chassis between different manufacturers to reduce costs.

But the V8 engine designed by Tadek Marek (Polish automobile engineer working for Aston Martin since 1954) was ready only two years later.

It'll be interesting to do a post about the innovation the innovations brought by this man but my knowledge in engine is rather limited, I'm more focused on design and by the way this one is stunning, especially with the side vents near to the front wheel...
The Series III was introduced in 1973 with Weber carburetors instead of the Bosch fuel injection system. Until 1978, only 967 examples were produced with a taller hood scoop to accommodate the Weber carbs.
Specification
This Aston Martin V8 is equipped with 5.3 liter quad-cam V8 engine with 5-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. The engine produces 310 hp and can reach 100 kmh in 6.1 seconds.
Restored this year, the car was finished in black over tan leather upholstery. All modern comfort has been added by the previous owners : ower-assisted steering, air conditioning, power windows, Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio...
It must be pretty cool to be behind this wheel and the price is rather decent...
