I received a surprise package in the post last week. The only real hints. It was from Australia and seemed to be posted from Melbourne.
The contents of the package revealed the sender to be a person with undoubted creativity, a working knowledge of arts and crafts, premeditation, a dollop of aussie larrikinism and most importantly a love of low brow scatalogical mischief. As my mother would say "small things amuse small minds".
However the sender details on the package had frustratingly been left anonymous !
Eventually the mystery of who was behind it all was solved, but to protect the guilty, no names shall be revealed.
I was thankful to ascertain that the package had zero relevance to myself and my own ablutions and that my property was merely acting as poste restante, as a friend was swinging past my gaffe on route to a continental holiday.
The silver haired gentleman portrayed on the car freshner, rose to a certain level of notoriety in Australia recently when he managed to run "foul" of authorities and his local neighbours in Brisbane.
He was persistently choosing to loosen his bowels in the same spot mid jog over the course of some weeks. An unlucky resident, whose front yard was caught up the fecal maelstrom, became so irritated that he caught a snap of the cheeky chap 'in flagrante delicto' and publicised it across social media until he was identified.

PS the car fresheners smell horrendous ( a sort of putrid butter scotch and vanilla essence smell mixed with petroleum) and I am thankful that all fresheners minus one, have left the house; although I do feel sorry for my chum who will now have to cart the blessed things in his rucksack across Europe.
I made the fatal mistake of opening one and had to contain it in a freezer bag ! I'm not sure that this little beauty will make it onto the rear vision mirror of our new set of wheels. It might just make a handy wheelie bin freshener though!
