I saw a post by about a photo contest, and when the subject was wood, I had to jump in!
My cousin Brad- my childhood best friend- bought land in Vermont and built a tiny house. Almost entirely on his own, with a little help from his wife and a few people who came to help with things that weren't possible for him to do alone.
The top picture is mine, the ones of the building process were taken by his wife and sent to me, then the rest are mine :)
What blows me away is how much actual room is in this little guy.
From the front it looks so tiny!
The side view is a bit more proportional.
There's actually a tiny mudroom before you enter the kitchen, but I can't find my pic of that, or of the bathroom.
The bookshelves/stairs are ingenious!
It's funny because as a kid his dad built him a bunk bed that had an entry point to the attic, and this reminds me of the stairs leading to it.
My uncle is a master carpenter, which is where my cousin got his gift and of course learned his skills.
In fact, my uncle built a giant log cabin many years ago that was incredible. Wish I had the pictures of that.
This is like a teeny version of it!
Most of his supplies are repurposed. He helped people pull down barns and sheds for a few years and gathered everything usable.
Surprisingly this is not his profession- he is in fact a master Baker. He's currently building an outdoor kitchen and I can't wait to visit, eat some pies and wood fired pizza!
Once again, this contest was brought to us by #POBphotocontest
