For me, weekends are a time to get things done and hopefully try to find a little time to relax.
Jacob has a birthday party at our house (he is turning 3!) next weekend and around 60 kids, parents and relatives have RSVP'd. The party will be held mostly in the backyard (weather permitting) but we are short on tables and chairs for that many people.
Today Jacob and I have been getting things done for the party, including borrowing tables and chairs from other people. Due to that, we need to use my truck, so we moved Jacob's car seat out of our Equinox (crossover SUV) and into the truck so Jacob can help get ready for the party. The front seat has a feature enabling me to turn off the front passenger airbag, so Jacob gets to sit in the front seat of the truck.
I can count on one hand the number of times Jacob has ridden shotgun in the truck, but he absolutely loves it! He has a much better vantage point then he does in the other car and he is in the front seat, so he can see everything I can see as the driver. He loves pointing out the red/green lights, ooing and aweing over "race cars" (cars that look fast), and naming all of the big trucks (such as big rigs, cement mixers, flatbed trucks, tow trucks, etc).
So while we are getting things done, we are also having a fun time bonding over a thing as simple as a truck drive!
Good stuff here, and I hope all my steemit friends are having a good weekend!
