Late last year I met my latest love, a 2016 Audi S3. We got along great but I asked her to find a brighter outfit. Here is what she was wearing when we met.
Being a picky guy I went with her to pick out a new wardrobe. We ended up at Pearls and Pigments in Houston, Texas. There were so many color options to choose from, it was difficult to decide. We ended up going with true custom digs and not wanting to make the commitment permanent, we went with AutoFlex peelable auto paint. Autoflex is the next evolution in peelable paint and a true step up from Plasti Dip and vinyl wrap. It has the shine and smoothness of OEM paint and can be cut, buffed, polished and otherwise maintained the same way as OEM auto paint. So at the end of the day we decided on a mixture of Rare Jade Pearls and Blueberry Juice candy additive on top of a black base. Here are the results along with a video by the installer.
Now I love her as is to include the stock wheels, but being intent on completing the look, I set out to DIY the wheels with a customer color Plasti Dip coating. One weekend day and a little trial and error and I managed to get the look I was going for, a dark burnt bronze/copper.
We have been happily rolling with these boots on for 6 months and about 6 thousand miles. It is holding up very well, but I have got an itch to get her a new set of kicks.
I was thinking maybe a pearlized metallic orange or possibly an off the wall color shifter.
What do you all think would suit up well with the shifting metallic blue body? Take a look at DYC or the tube and let me know. If I pick your idea I will even gift you some STEEM. Thanks!
