Having owned the Taycan for the best part of a year now, and initially struggled with the EV charging infrastructure on offer around and near to London, most of my woes were resolved with the installation of a dedicated Ctek charger at @ The Shmuseum. However, I've long wondered what it would be like to try and get the Taycan off for a big adventure and a long distance drive around Europe, to really understand the feasibility of an EV.

While it wasn't planned, I spontaneously made the decision that we'd give it a go, and decided less than 24hrs beforehand that this was happening with the first leg being an awfully long drive via the Eurotunnel, down through France and across to Munich, Germany. A journey that would involve many charging stops, potentially great headache and stress, but jump into the deep end of seeing how realistically it can work out.

With a maximum range from experience of just shy of 200 miles charge, on the basis of running 0% to 100% (which you don't do in reality because of the charging time at the top end, and the risk of running out), this was always going to be a tricky journey. However, there's a lot to learn; best practices for such a long EV drive, the differences in charging infrastructures from one country to another, what the Taycan is like travelling so far, how much it costs to do this on electricity, and much more.
