After unveiling his M4 CS, the Bavarian manufacturer has naturally turned to his little sister, the M3.
More sharp than the "classic" version, more powerful, but also showing less weight on the scale and an even more muscular look, the BMW M3 CS will be released to 1,200 copies.
Aggressive at will
If the classic version of the 3-series supercharged already impresses, the M3 Pack Competition version impresses a little more with its muscular look and first-rate performance. Still a step above, the exterior of the recently unveiled BMW M3 CS says a lot about BMW Motorsport's claims.
Losing the passage fifty pounds thanks to lightweight materials, the CS is distinguished by even more impressive air intakes, a specific exhaust, but especially more power and increased torque. Result: more sportiness and agility favored by a lowered center of gravity.
Good to know: carbon ubiquity
The M3 CS is hunting for the extra pounds. For the occasion, many elements in CFRP, plastic alloy and carbon fiber, are appearing on several body panels. As a result, the beast only displays 1,585 kg on the scale.
A phenomenal power
431 HP for the M3, 450 for the Competition Pack version, up to the BMW M3 CS and its 460 hp. If the 6-cylinder 3.0 bi-turbo is kept, it has been optimized to gain power but also in torque (600 Nm against 550 for the Pack Competition version).
The cavalry is transmitted to the rear wheels by a box DCT 7 (double clutch), with paddles driving of course. The manufacturer announces a 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds, is as good as a Porsche GT2 RS of 629 hp, that's saying!
Good to know: limited speed
On the performance side, BMW announces that its M3 CS is capable of reaching 280 km / h. The speed has however been restrained electronically, which says a lot about its possibilities.
Slightly modified interior
If externally the BMW M3 CS wants to distinguish itself from its counterparts, the cockpit is substantially identical.
Note the appearance of alcantara on the dashboard, the center console, and on the specific steering wheel.
Borrowed from the Racing Pack version, the bucket seats have a distinctive two-tone leather upholstery.

For the first time, the M3 CS is equipped with a red start button. Atypical, is not it?
A sporty chassis
Sportsmanship requires, the M3 CS respects the codes. As standard, the "M Suspension" adaptive suspension will allow the driver to choose different driving modes: Comfort, Sport and Sport +, the latter making it possible to apprehend the performance of the vehicle without the usual driving aids.
Based on 19-inch wheels at the front and 20 inches at the rear, this BMW M3 CS is a sporty hard. For the occasion, it receives Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, four-piston front brakes and two rear brakes, with the option of 6-piston ceramic brakes in front and four behind (optional). ).
Everything is associated with a new M Performance exhaust, lighter and with a sound specific to the series. The driver can even afford the luxury of modifying the sound environment thanks to an ingenious valve system included in the silencer.
Really, the race for performance is launched and builders want more and more. Used to surprise us, BMW demonstrates once again its know-how through this limited edition M3 CS.
Unfortunately, there will not be one for everyone. The 1,200 copies of this BMW M3 CS ?? 550 of which are destined for the US market ?? will be priced at € 113,600, € 17,000 more than the Competition Pack version. A price gap that will certainly not be an obstacle for fans of the genre.
