A Rare Machine
This is the car that was probably the first supercar with a rear mid-engined two-seat layout. I had Matchbox cars of this as a kid, but I have never ever seen one on the road so the trip to the museum was worth it just to see one up close. Two different trips and they had a green one, then the next time they had a yellow one.
It was so great to see the car, something I never thought would be possible as they are so rare, originally Ferruccio Lamborghini didn't want to produce the car but it eventually made its way into production. It had a 3.9L V12 engine in a transversely-mounted mid-engine layout, the rolling chassis was shown at the Turin Salon in 1965. People were impressed enough to place orders for the car even though the body was not shown.
These cars were once again immaculate examples and such great cars just to look at, and as ever I wish I could have taken one home with me, where ever that may be.
I wish I took more photos but once again I was looking more than clicking.
All these images are taken by me copyright Gyro, you should not see them anywhere else but Steemit, thanks for looking.
