RM Sotheby's Arizona will be the place to be in only two weeks (16-17 January). There'll be plenty to drool over during this auction block including this cool 1963 Shelby 260 Cobra, one of early 2600 street Cobras with a price tag of $US 650,000.
History of Shelby 260 Cobra
Shelby Cobra is one of the most well known sports cars in the World thanks to the American automotive designer Carroll Shelby who decided to put an American engine (Ford V8) into an European body (AC Ace roadster). The Cobra was a huge success, on the tracks and on the streets, evolving from 260 cu to 427 cu.

This model (CSX 2047) was one of the 62 first street specified Cobra equipped originally with a 260 cu engine, build in November 1962.
Specification
The Shelby Cobra 260 has 260 cu (4.3 litre) V8 engine producing 260 hp at 5,800 rpm. It can reach the 100 kmh in 4.2 seconds and 160 kmh in 10.8 seconds with a top speed of 247 kmh. Pretty little beast...
This cobra was finished in black interior. Somes upgrades was ordered by the first owner in 1963 sun visors, wind wings, front and rear bumpers, aluminum rocker covers, and chrome exhaust tips and hood latches. In 2001, the car was completely restored with its original color and white Le Mans stripes were added. Nice.
