One year after the debut of his first car, the Ren, the Techrules will return to the Geneva Motor Show presenting its evolution to competition. The RS variant of the electric powered by a turbine generator is based on an advanced version of the mechanics of the first prototype and, thanks to a new aerodynamic look developed by L.M. Giannetti evolving the forms created by Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, promises very high performances.
The form follows the function. Being a model uniquely designed to run on the track the Ren RS is a single-seater with a domed roof that has allowed to improve the aerodynamics of the sport to further increase its performance. A new aesthetic kit of carbon fiber has revolutionized the front and tail of the car, ensuring high levels of aerodynamic load and adequate cooling of the mechanical parts to ensure the reliability required in competitions. The front mudguards are very low to reduce the frontal surface and combine with a truncated tail that minimizes aerodynamic drag by working together with a large, single-profile adjustable aileron with variable downforce: the aerodynamic efficiency of the Ren RS is 3.36, while the resistance coefficient is equal to 0.43.
Six engines and up to two turbines. The propulsive architecture is the same as the Ren: the powertrain provides the presence of six electric motors, two mounted on the front axle and four at the rear for a total of 1,305 hp and 2,340 Nm of maximum torque (7,722 Nm to the wheels). To power these units there is a 28.4 kWh lithium-ion-polymer battery that is charged by a system with a 30 kW turbine or two 80 kW units: with a full 80 liters of diesel the autonomy it is 1,170 km with a consumption of 7.5 l / 100 km. The car of the Chinese brand is able to shoot from 0 to 100 km / h in 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km. The push rod suspensions have been developed specifically for use on the track and are combined with an AP Racing braking system with 380mm carboceramic discs at the front and 355mm at the rear, respectively combined with six and four piston calipers.
