Modified Cars are all the rage again, now it's quite strange when I was a teenager growing up and had modified cars there were lots of meets every night we'd discuss cars hoon down various roads mind you hoon wasn't the term.
Boot it, maybe? In the last few years car meets changed nobody would talk to you and you could feel completely alienated, even if you had the best car there.
It was a your no friend of mine mentality, therefore even if I like your car or mods I won't talk to you.
Well it's getting better and yes these modified car meets still happen and they seem to be getting more and more approachable, let me explain.
Last week we were invited to attend a Blackpool underground floating location meet with Coastline Cruises, who we now sponsor after we did such a sterling job on this video.
It was quite an interesting event, we met up and formed a convoy from Lancaster to Blackpool with around 50 to 60 modified cars all travelling around 75 miles an hour, yes law abiding boy racers .
When we used to do it people someone would go off and do 120, these guys all stayed in one big convoy at a speed that didn't slow anyone else down.
We soon arrived in Blackpool, there was a small crash because someone had ABS and the car behind did not and went sliding into the back of it.
No one was hurt and both were modified.
When we arrived there was the roar of engines and tyres screeching, popping exhausts and sound systems blaring you name it now these guys had it.
The guys have a clever system, you join the Facebook group and then half an hour before the meet they announce a location that way it can't get shut down.
Even if the police do turn up the usually just say quieten down guys and move on, mind you these cruisers have backup locations in reserve including a private location, very clever.
These guys had some really cool cars with modified cars left right and centre everything from R35's through to 3 cylinder Peugeots and each car is loved as the next.
There was a radio control car as well as going run around with big tyres, burnouts, handbrake turns, kind of drifting or put your foot down, doughnuts too.
We attended in the opposite of a crazy modded motor the, tech advanced Honda CR-V with Hybrid tech, an amazing event and a cool SUV to go in.
