I didn't honestly think that the Rexton could get any better.
We had the 4th Gen on review earlier this year, and as we were still in lockdown, there was only so much we could do to showcase it.
Even so, it was more than capable of handling everything we threw at it, and although we couldn't go far, we could venture a wee bit further up in the Lakes, so of course we included some green laning 😊
It was utterly delightful to have the new Rexton on review this Summer.
As luck would have it, we had this on review during the time when our Mk2 Golf needed to be moved. It had been with Paul - our classic car restorer - for some much needed TLC, and he had gone as far as he could with it.
Question was - who could we find to finish the Gordian Knot that was the wiring? Luckily for us, we are good friends with Ernie from Mods And Rods Toy Box. As he is an experienced car wizard, we asked him to come and have a look at the Mk2, and he ended up asking us to let him take it back to his workshop!
The fact that we happened to have the 5th Gen Rexton made this a mission possible, and once Ernie's trailer had been collected, the Golf was popped onto it, and it toddled off to the Toy Box for some in-depth wiring...
What astounded me was how smooth the ride was in the new Gen Rexton - they have refined the NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) in the cabin. It was good before, so now, it's excellent. It also towed the Mk2 Golf so easily - it was hardly noticable that it was towing anything unless you looked in the mirror.
It's also been fitted with an 8 speed gearbox, and it's seamless - but I'm getting ahead of myself, lol!
Thank you, all - and enjoy.
Annabelle. 😊
