When we had the Nissan Navara Pick up on review a couple of years ago, we didn't get chance to take it off road...
This time, we were off like a shot, further up into The Lakes.
Whilst up there, we found it to be sure footed and you can switch it into 4 high on the fly.
All models are now fitted with with multilink rear suspension with coil springs - this gives it more car like qualities, and you can also see this in the interior. It's nicely kitted out, and has lots of mod cons too.
They've also fitted better brakes and they've revised the front suspension as well.
To keep it safe, all models across the range are fitted with trailer sway assist.
It's also got increased torque and a 6 speed manual gearbox with lower ratios and a shorter shift - but this box is just as capable off road and may even be a bit more economical.
The really sad thing is that in just a few short days, this lovely pick up will stop production in Europe and the U.K., and the remaining stock sold off. After the cancellation of the Mercedes Benz X Class (which utilised the Navara platform) Nissan saw a significant drop in production, meaning they decided to stop making it.
We are certainly very sad to see it go...
