One of the highlights of the Commercial Vehicle Show was our chance to see the new Musso from SsangYong. Built on the Rexton platform, this is a pick-up that drives like an SUV.
This is my favourite pick-up - as most people who have seen our channel will know - and for good reason.
As we are wont to do, we took this off roading up to the green lanes of the Lake District to see how it handled - and this time, we had company!
Not only is the Musso versatile, it's practical and refined. It's powerful too, as it's fitted with a 2.2Litre Turbo Diesel engine coupled to a six speed automatic gearbox.
Refinements include heated front and rear seats - the front are also ventilated - alloy wheels, a heated steering wheel and a good infotainment system, and it can tow 3.5 tonnes whilst carrying 1 tonne on the bed simultaneously.
You can also pick and choose from a large range of options that include soft covers, hard tops, roll bars, a tailgate damper, comfort springs - the list goes on!
Even though this is the long wheelbase version, it handled the terrain with ease, taking all that we threw at it.
This is the last moment before I completely soaked Ben with that cascade of water...oops!
Seriously though, if you are looking for a pick-up, test drive one of these. They have so much going for them, and they are just as capable on a long motorway journey as they are off road.
