World War II, people from all over Europe arrive in Casablanca, Morocco, running away from the Nazis. Getting to Casablanca is easy, but getting out is quite difficult, specially if your name is in the Gestapo list. The secret German police is after Czech leader, hero of the resistance, Victor Laszlo, whose only hope is Rick, the American owner of the most popular night club in Casablanca, Rick’s Café, and an old lover of Ilsa, Victor’s wife. When Ilsa offers to stay in Casablanca with Rick in exchange for a visa to get Victor out of the country, Rick will have to choose between his own happiness or the idealism that ruled his life in the past.
