We ended up not doing anything that crazy and just staying at the Hard Rock for the day. Between the gambling and buffet, there was more than enough at a single casino to keep us busy for the day.
Sometimes things just don’t go to plan. We were originally going to start the next day quite early into the morning. Many of us enjoy gambling from 2 to 5 AM. We were however so tired we slept in rather late.
Instead, our next gambling session ended up starting around 9 AM. By 10 Am I had played a few slots without much luck. I had at this point walked around most of the Hard Rock casino.
I was a little disappointed that the only high-limit area I could find was guarded by staff and appeared to be reserved for Xcard invitation-only players. At least quite a few slots on the floor allowed you to select different denominations. They were however not true high-limit slots as those tend to be set up a bit differently.
What they did have was this circle area dragon link and other similar games. We would end up coming back to this little section of the casino quite a few times.
I decided to sit down and play a few different Dragon link slots. All on quite the low bet of 50 cents a spin. I did not want to start the day with anything that crazy. I was still trying to take up from quite a long sleep.
It did not take very long before I was already tapping that order drink button and having some Starry arrive. I was holding off on anything stronger till a bit later in the day.
The bonuses I got up in this circular area for a better word sucked. While I thought it was a cool little area they had set up for this kind of slot machine. They were just not paying out. At least I got both types of bonuses on this game.
Not far from that later once you stepped down out of that circler room were some Cash express Luxury Line slots. I’ve been staying away from them for about a year now. They are highly volatile in my opinion and I’ve never had much luck with them.
Since not much was hitting I thought why not give them a chance again? They had a timber wolf version which I was interested in playing. The line hits on this was a lot better than I was expecting. As with any luxury line game I’ve played in the past if you don’t get the train you are not winning much.
For once we were landing the trains and getting some very small wins. In this instance, I had a train where I was getting $1.75 per train. If I’m not mistaken in this bonus you can have up to 10 trains with a minimum of 3. I ended up getting 8 train cars.
The biggest thing that caught my eye for wanting to play this slot was that major. It was quite a lot higher than the other luxury lines. I have never seen it that high at this level of betting. It seemed to be quite overdue. I never got it which was not unexpected.
What I did get was a couple more bonuses and decent line hits. While in the end, I did not walk away up double. I felt I had pressed my luck on his one and would walk away with whatever my ticket was at that time.
By then we had been down on the casino floor for a couple of hours. Nothing was hitting. The nice thing about having a hotel room is you can just go take a break and that is exactly what we did.
While the others I was with don’t eat much. By the time 1 PM rolled around I was starving. I’ve never had true room service before so I thought I’d give that experience a try. In the past, I’ve had food picked up and brought to the room. I have never had someone bring the food up on a fancy cart with a dome and all that fancy stuff.
It was an interesting experience eating from a cart at the edge of my bed. I pulled the fancy metal top off the food and went to work on it. I ended up ordering The Rockin Reuben corned beef. It was fantastic.
I think I ended up enjoying just a little too much just pushing the cart out into the hallway after I was done eating. At some point, it was collected and never seen again. While room service was fun the extra fees will keep me away from making it a regular thing.
Everyone else was saving their appetite for the Fresh Harvest Seafood Buffet that we went to a couple of hours later. While we showed up early we still waited around an hour in the line just to get in. It seemed like a large number of people who were at the Hard Rock at the time wanted to get into this buffet.
I ended up not taking any photos as this place was filled with people and my fingers were covered in butter. I did not want to mess with my phone for a couple of photos. What I can tell you is I downed a few plates of crab legs.
They had these massive bins of crab legs that they just kept hauling out. It was quite painful to sit in line for so long watching everyone just devour things! I did learn you wanted to get to them when they were fresh and still hot. One of my plates of crab legs was a bit cold before I even finished them.
Unlike many others. I prefer to crack all my crab legs open first and pull out all the meat. I then would just let it soak in the hot butter while I worked on the next set on my plate. Then I’d go to town enjoying a nice little feast of crab meat before getting up and repeating the process.
I did also try a few other items at the buffet. They had quite a few shrimp: BBQ, Coconut, Old Bay, baked, and so on. Some of them were quite messy as you had to peel the whole thing. Needless to say, I’m glad I did not try to touch my phone during this whole ordeal. I’m sure I’d still be trying to get the fish smell off it!
In the end, I grabbed some ice cream and a cookie and left the buffet back up to the hotel room. Where I sat down to relax a bit and enjoy finishing my dessert. With how much it cost to just buy crab legs these days at the store I more than got my money’s worth.
After a needed break it was time to go back down to the casino floor. I gave my hand at Game of Thrones. I’m just not a big fan of the newer ones. While I did get the dragon to randomly fly out and give me some reels of wilds. It was not exactly a great win.
I prefer the old Game of Thrones slot where if you are at least bettering a certain amount you have three different sets of reels you are playing at once. The Hard Rock in Tampa removed that one a while ago and it was not as far as I could tell at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City. I did not see it at any of the other casinos either.
This is why you should always enjoy and play the older games you love. You never know when it will be that fateful day they get removed. There are still quite a few slot machines we were on the hunt for hoping Atlantic City would have them. While we did find a couple of slots it seems it’s getting quite hard to find many of the old classics.
After a couple of other slots, I found myself back at the Gold Stacks game. We all noticed how the minor still had not gone off for possibly days now. I jokingly said I was not leaving till I popped the dang thing.
I had no idea that I would then for the next fourth or so minutes be sitting down at the same slot winning. While there was quite a lot of back and forth I must have had almost a dozen different bonuses. Some were amazing and others not so much.
I even got the pick bonus a couple of times. I was certain each time it was time for the minor to hit. Oddly enough when I did get on this slot even the mini was getting quite high and seemed like it did not hit for a while. It reset at $20 after the first time I got it. I’d go on to get it a couple more times.
It was quite fun getting so many bonuses on a single slot machine. At one point I had turned the $40 I had put into the slot into almost $150 In the end the thing went on quite a cold streak and I ended up cashing out at $120. A nice little triple-up sure helped with some of the loss I had been getting for the day.
I’m kind of glad I got off that slot. Many knew that minor had not hit in quite a while and were waiting to replace me when I got off. None of them got it either and I was told the slot was eating money left and right. At some point the next day someone finally did get it. We have no idea who.
Final Thoughts
I went off to go play a few other slots. I did not have much luck and before midnight I decided to head back up to the hotel room and get some rest. I knew at some point we would be wanting to make a late-night run at the casino. So I felt now was the time to get what rest I could.
