There is certainly a story or novel in which dogs are drawn as "bad characters," but I do not remember. However, there are stories and even novels in which cat characters are depicted as bad characters.
The love of a cat is more morbid than a dog. While the dog can share the love, the cat does not seem to share. In the book Catette of Colette, a cat with a morbid enthusiasm is described.
The cat is the head character of the novel, but unlike the dog, it is the bearer of an unexpected element: passionate love and devotion. As far as I can remember, the cat has a fatal loyalty.
