Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 167, Edition 02 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the second topic for this week, which is “FINANCIAL LITERACY”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “SMARTPHONE AGE”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on the right time children could be allowed to own phones and also own social media accounts. With the rate at which the world is moving, it’s so easy for kids to be distracted by the kind of content that can be found on the internet through smartphones.
We got to see the different ways this could be handled. Some simply chose to keep phones from their kids until they’re old enough. Others believe that kids should own phones, but they must be closely monitored to ensure that it’s not used for other things. All in all, what really matters is the well-being of the child. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w167e1 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
Featured Contents
SCREEN TIME SABOTAGE: HOW SMARTPHONES ARE DERAILING OUR KIDS FUTURE by
This author told us about the steps he had to take to ensure his younger brother stayed away from constant use of the phone and the internet and instead, focused on studies and schooling. He believes that the use of phones by kids should be restricted until they get to a certain age, which is over 18. That will be the best course of action.
SMARTPHONE USAGE IN CHILDREN by
For this author, she believes that giving a phone to a child isn’t necessarily bad for the child. What matters most is the parental guidance that should go with the phone. The kid should be properly trained and taught to understand the usefulness of the phone, and when they get it, they should also be properly monitored. That will be the only way to ensure that they use it to do only what they should.
For this author, she told us that 13 is the ideal age for a child to start using a phone, and as the child grows older, the level of surveillance they’d get from their parents would reduce over time until they’re mature enough to handle all the distractions that come with owning a phone. And then, it’s important they have it then because they could need it for school activities.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (
) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:
