OK, so that was a terrible "Clickbait" headline, but it WAS an exciting moment earlier today when I noticed for the first time that my post from yesterday had actually made it to 6th place in the "Trending" feed.
Yes, OK... so it was 6th under the #cats tag, but I'm a cat... so it felt like an accomplishment worth celebrating!
Especially given that I am not PAYING to be there, with bid bots and other tools.
Which brings me to another point, related to most of us trying to build a presence here on Steemit: We may TALK a lot about "not paying attention to the Trending feed," but I wanted to use the above event as an example that "avoiding" the Trending feed makes less sense if you're looking at it by specific tags.
If you look at Trending "by tag," it CAN be a really good way to find some high quality and well-deserving content. Many of the less used tags will lead you to content that's there for an authentic reason... not because the author paid $100s for it to be there.
Just something to keep in mind, as you search for good content!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!
